The Appeal
If your enthusiasm for Porsche’s classic 911 extends to the evocative wide body Turbo look, but stops some way short of the boosted 930’s hedge-remodelling antics, then you want this car. It looks like a Turbo, but with its 3L SC running gear, it’ll prove entertaining, but not to the point of nudging scary.
The attractive mint green car you see is the result of a fastidious three-year restoration that cost a cool €100,000. The vendor describes it as ‘nut and bolt’ and looking at the photos of the work and the finished car, it’s hard not to disagree. It looks as if not part of this car was left untouched, from bodywork to trim to mechanicals.
The car has covered only 775 miles since the work was finished, all of it in the hands of the garage that undertook the work. It is in great condition and shows a high level of attention to detail, whether it’s the lovely black Fuchs with their polished rims, the ‘Turbo’ badges or the two-tone purple and green fabric interior.
Here is a chance to capitalise on all that work. This is a car that will confuse passersby while it thoroughly - and safely - entertains you.

We love any classic 911, but there really is something about the wide body Turbo that properly dials up the drama. The 930 wasn’t available in the mint green of this car, but looking at it we wish it was. No matter, we have this car as compensation.
With just 775 miles since the work was completed, this car is in great order inside and out. The attention to detail is impressive - we particularly like the two-tone green and purple seat inserts.
The Mechanics
- 2,994cc flat-six SC specification engine
- 5spd manual gearbox
- Fully rebuilt engine, gearbox and mechanicals
- Suspension, brakes and running gear overhauled
- All work completed in 2021 with 775 miles since covered
- No reported running or driving issues
The 3L SC engine is one of the strongest and best-regarded of the many flat-six air-cooled motors that have powered classic 911s. In this car it is mated to the long-legged 5spd box.
The vendor tells us the car is matching numbers. It was fully and extensively rebuilt during the restoration, the work apparently covering every aspect of the car from engine and gearbox to brakes, suspension and running gear. With so little use since completion, all of it by the chaps who built it, it is in fine running order and ready for its next keeper.
