The Appeal
The Armstrong Siddeley Four-Fourteen was first introduced to a fledgling market in 1923, and quickly gained an exceptional reputation for its day. This was an age where cars were rapidly developing and dropping in price, and the 14 was intended to really bring motoring to the masses. It was the best value car in their range, and by all accounts fit the bill perfectly for those seeking a reliable daily driver.
This particular 1927 example belongs to the MK2 variant of the Four-Fourteen, with boasted a new chassis with four wheel brakes and semi-elliptic front and rear springs. This allowed a greater variety of body styles, including this - the handsome Broadway Saloon. Armstrong Siddeley made quite a pointed note that the cabin was large enough for hats and canes!
This fine example has not moved a wheel in months, and appears to be in a fine state of preservation. Whether the lucky buyer wishes to maintain this history of dry storage or return it to the road is, of course, up to them!
