1934 Delahaye 122A

Highlights

  • Fewer than 50 examples of the 122A model built
  • Fully restored in 2009 with photographic documentation of all works
  • Recent brake overhaul completed in 2024
  • Matching serial numbers
  • Vehicle technical inspection valid until August 2027

The Appeal

Delahaye was a different marque. While it is more often remembered for its rallying successes and luxurious platforms, the company spent a large part of its life building commercial machines, which no doubt contributed to its reputation for durability and impressive torque.

The 122A was noted for its excellent technological advance for the era and sits among the brand’s rarest offerings, with fewer than 50 examples built. This rarity, combined with Delahaye’s reputation for quality and refinement, makes it an extremely appealing prospect for the enthusiast — hence we expect strong demand for it.

Having been fully restored in 2009 after its discovery in Montargis following two decades in storage, the current owner undertook an extensive restoration covering the chassis, mechanics, bodywork, upholstery and electrical system, with photographic documentation kept throughout the process. More recently, the braking system was restored in 2024 to bring it back on the road.

The seller is registered as a private seller, which means that EU consumer rights do not apply. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic’s Terms and Conditions.

This vehicle is “Sold As Seen”, on an as seen basis and without warranty. The photos and descriptions are a guide and it is customary to carry out a full vehicle inspection before purchase for peace of mind.

We aim for a smooth transaction as you do, and accordingly we have all UK-registered cars and motorcycles for sale on Car & Classic checked via an online HPI check to confirm they show no damage or theft markers in an insurer’s database and that no finance is owed, allowing you to bid with confidence.
We also check whether vehicles have been recorded as having been written off in the event of a total insured loss at the time of listing on Car & Classic and we conveniently provide damage category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to assist. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status, and it is always advisable to perform your own complete history check before bidding on a vehicle.
Buyers are responsible for collecting the vehicle or arranging delivery. Importing vehicles can incur customs duties and additional import taxes, so it is prudent to check in advance. It is the bidders’ responsibility to confirm import eligibility before purchase.
