The Appeal
Few classic British sports cars capture the spirit of post-war motoring quite like the MG TD. With its charming upright styling, robust mechanicals, and engaging driving experience, the TD has long been a favourite among enthusiasts and remains a wonderful entry point into classic motoring.
This 1950 example was assembled in South Africa as a CKD, then exported to the USA in 1969, where it remained until 2020 before returning to the UK. It has since been the subject of an extensive restoration. The vendor states the paintwork across the body, chassis, and running gear is in very good order, while the red interior trim is said to present well, retaining a lovely patina. Retaining standard specification throughout, the vendor states this TD drives very well following its overhaul. Now registered on UK plates, it is offered by a collector who is reducing the size of their vehicle collection. As the car has been rebuilt, it will benefit from a period of running in.
