The Appeal

The Riley RME represented the final evolution of the celebrated RM series, combining a willing 1½-litre four-cylinder engine with torsion-bar independent front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering that made for a comfortable, handsome saloon that was quickly snapped up by the discerning well-to-do driver. These cars have long been prized by enthusiasts for their fine handling, handsome lines, and leisurely, confident performance - and they enjoy the backing of one of the most active and supportive owners' clubs out there.

This 1952 example has benefited from a thorough restoration carried out by its third owner, all meticulously documented with a diary and photographic record. Since acquiring the car in 2019, the current owner has continued to invest in its mechanical wellbeing. The result, we're told, is a car that is mechanically sorted and a pleasure to drive in modern traffic.
