The Appeal
The TR4 is the purest iteration of the Michelotti lines that clothed a succession of two-seater Triumphs. With its gutsy power plant and engaging handling, these cars were always a cut above their Abingdon and Rootes rivals.
This 1962 TR4 is an early one and looks particularly good in understated Old English White. We are told it received a body-off restoration in the 80s or 90s and that it continues to look good is a credit to its handful of keepers.
And ownership is where this car gets even more interesting. The first keeper retained it until 2013, passing it to a relative who kept it until 2016. It then passed through a couple of enthusiasts before the vendor acquired it in 2023. He tells us that since 2016 the car has received over £6,000 of investment including new carpets, water pump, wiper motor and fuel pump. It has, of course, been regularly serviced.
The joy of a TR is its styling and engaging, analogue driving experience. Plus the enthusiasm of a coterie of fellow owners. This car looks ready to rustle some fallen leaves in autumn before enjoying some top down summer days in 2026.
The vendor says:
