The Appeal
Still heralded as one of the most beautiful, well-engineered convertibles of all time, the W113 SL 'Pagoda' remains as desirable as ever. Designed by Mercedes-Benz stalwarts Friedrich Geiger and Paul Bracq, the W113 and its contemporaries earned the company its enviable reputation for quality.
SLs of this era are challenging and expensive to restore, so fabulous examples such as this matching numbers 230 SL from 1965 are rightly in high demand. As a right-hand drive UK market Pagoda, this SL ticks all the right boxes. Better still, it comes with the rare factory 'kinderseat', a transverse rear seat intended for children. As the photographs attest, this car presents impeccably throughout, and it benefits from a great deal of recent work carried out by some of the very best marque specialists.
It isn't often such fine examples come to market, so be sure not to miss this excellent opportunity to acquire one of the very best W113 SLs we've had the privilege of offering.image.png3.57 MB

A textbook example of how to restore a car properly, this SL shows just what the UK's foremost specialists can achieve when they're given free rein to spend time and money where it's needed. This car is simply stunning from every angle and the colour combination couldn't be more elegant if it tried.
Even fine details like the Becker Europa radio and period-style Michelin tyres are just right. It's these final touches that make or break a restoration, and this is without doubt among the very best we've ever come across. Correspondence from Colin Fearns LTD suggests all bodywork and interior restoration was carried out prior to their time with the car, as it was they who then carried out the mechanical restoration. It's reported that all panels were replaced, as was the soft top, carpeting, and leather upholstery. The car has evidently been very well-kept since all this work was done, as it continues to present impeccably.
