The Appeal
The Renault Alpine GTA is one of the most distinctive grand tourers of the 1980s. With its fibreglass bodywork, rear-mounted engine and 2.8-litre V6, it offers an original take on the sports car. Often overshadowed by its turbocharged variant, the naturally aspirated V6 GT appeals through its linear power delivery, driving enjoyment and accessible character—qualities increasingly appreciated by enthusiasts.
This 1986 example is finished in Gardenia White with a grey interior, and retains its standard specification without power steering or air conditioning. Purchased from a club member in 2011, it has been maintained by its current owner for approximately 15 years. During this period, some 64,000 km have been covered, averaging around 4,500 km per year. Professional servicing is presented as well documented, with invoices covering a wide range of mechanical work.
Following an accident in 2018, the car was entrusted to an Alpine specialist in Orthez for repair and a complete respray. Invoices and expert reports are retained in the file. The interior shows honest wear proportionate to its age, consistent with nearly four decades of use.
Accompanied by a history file, original Renault service booklet, professional workshop manual and a selection of spare parts, this GTA represents an interesting proposition for the Alpine enthusiast.
