The Appeal

The AW11 first-generation MR2 is one of the most celebrated sports cars of the 1980s. A lightweight, mid-engined machine developed with Lotus-influenced chassis tuning and powered by the high-revving 4A-GE twin-cam engine, it combined sharp handling with Toyota reliability in a striking wedge-shaped package complete with pop-up headlights. Today, well-preserved examples are increasingly sought after, and finding one in this condition with this level of completeness is uncommon.

This 1988 example shows just 22,261 miles and is described by the vendor as completely original. Finished in bright red with its matching numbers 1,587cc 4A-GE DOHC 16-valve engine and 5-speed manual gearbox, it also boasts with original cloth sport seats, factory stereo, and center console, all reported by the vendor to be in very clean order.

Can you also confirm ‘143’ Bhp? Isn’t that the Supercharged Bhp figure, not the naturally aspirated model? ( unless it’s been modified) Thanks

You are correct, this should be 124 HP, the car is completely original, like a time capsule, nothing has been modified.
