The Appeal
The Defender would go on to revolutionise the modern image of the off-roader - without ever sacrificing the ethos and identity of its predecessor. The Land Rover formula was alive and well in these, simply brought up to date with a more rugged, enduring eye for reliability. Obviously, it was hard to argue with the classics.
The before the Defender though, there was the 90 or 110. These are effectively the same vehicle at heart, acting as that immediate stop-gap between the unnamed Landies and the heavily branded Defender that followed. Durable, straight-faced and sharp, these off-roaders would go on to shape the future of Coventry's output.
This handsome example, originally based in Italy, comes to us in fine condition, having been kept by the same owner since October 1991. It's accompanied by an impressive Italian service history and a fresh MOT. We understand that it's been well-maintained throughout its life time, and is ready and waiting to go.
