The Appeal

In the late 80s and early 90s, no saloon car quite said suburban solidity quite like Volvo’s 700 and later 900 Series. Despite the chunky American-infused styling, these cars represent safety - naturally - and security in a way few British or German alternatives quite deliver.

Despite those appealing qualities, survivors of either generation are surprisingly rare. Yet here we have one, a highly preserved low mileage 940GL equipped with Volvo’s robust 2L B200F engine and a four speed automatic gearbox. It is original and unmodified, right down to the factory stereo and plastic hub caps.

MOT records indicate that the car has covered less than 50,000 miles from new, the mileage amassed by just two keepers. With lengthy advisory-free MOT to December 2026, this timewarp car would make a perfect distinctive daily or a contender at the next Festival of the Unexceptional.
