The Appeal

The Series 1 Peugeot 106 XSi is among the most entertaining small hot hatches of the 1990s. Lightweight, nimble, and powered by a willing 1,360cc engine through a slick five-speed manual gearbox, it earned a devoted following among driving enthusiasts. The earlier S1 cars are particularly sought after and increasingly scarce, with many having been driven hard and few surviving in presentable condition.

This 1993 example was purchased by the current owner in 2021 and kept in storage before undergoing a thorough restoration and recommissioning this year. The bodywork has been treated to a full glass-out respray along with a new old stock bonnet, while the mechanical side has been extensively overhauled as detailed below. Refurbished OZ Super Turismo wheels wear fresh Pirelli P Zero Nero tyres, and with an advisory-free MOT valid until July 2027, this 106 XSi is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
