The Appeal
The simply named Coupe is, equally simply, one of the greatest Fiats of the last 30 years. Sharp, slashed Chris Bangle styling, plus Lampredi's brilliant twin-cam, deliver a scintillating driving experience. Add in clever interior details like the body colour dash and good cars are surely nailed on future classics.
This early Coupe is one of the nicest and least-used that we’ve seen in a long while. It has that turbocharged Lampredi 16V, shared with Lancia’s Delta Integrale, and is finished in eye-catching Giallo Ginestra with a later ‘Plus’ body kit to dial up the aesthetic drama.
The vendor acquired the car after it had been in storage for 28 years. He tells us that he has fully restored it, including a full repaint and extensive work by a well-respected local mechanic. There is a long list of work and parts that is summarised below, including new clutch, timing belt, fuel, coolant and suspension repairs and what is described as a ‘minor remap.’ The car carries Revisione to May 2026 and is said to be ASI registered and free of road tax.
The early Coupes like this one are part of a long tradition of Lampredi-engined Fiats. This is a really good example where the buyer benefits from all the seller’s work.
The vendor says:
“Excellent drivability, excellent road holding, suspension not up to par with performance, very soft, some tires are missing because they deteriorate quickly.
“This Fiat was created in collaboration with Ferrari. It is a car that pulls very well, especially in high gears. The braking has its limits, but overall the car is a lot of fun. It has a smooth gearbox and an Autoblokkante differential for sporty driving. I would like to remind you that the car is descended from the Delta Integrale.”
