The Appeal
Morgan takes an idea and runs with it. The Plus 4 was produced intermittently over an immense span of some 70 years. First introduced in 1950, it ran continuously until 1969, was revived from 1985 to 2000, and saw its final run from 2005 to 2020 before being replaced by the modern Morgan Plus Four, which is still in production today.
This 1996 example originates from the model's second production run, powered by the 2.0-litre Rover T-Series four-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox.
This Plus 4 comes with what the vendor notes to be a documented history of work carried out since new, and has been carefully maintained over the years with mechanical work and thoughtful additions detailed below.
We asked the vendor to summarise the car:
"The beautiful red colour, the sound of the engine, the admiring looks you get from everybody. It's a link to the past when driving was fun, the Morgan recaptures those moments. I sell with a heavy heart and not because there is anything wrong with it. Yes, you may get an open-top car cheaper, but nothing will have the heart and soul of a Morgan. This is a great opportunity to buy a great car that has no known issues and is a joy to drive."image.png1.64 MB

✓ The seller is registered as a private seller which means consumer rights stemming from EU consumer protection law do not come into effect. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic’s own Terms and Conditions..
✓ We request that a non-refundable fee be paid if you are the lucky winning bidder at auction or if your offer is accepted Please refer to our helpful FAQs and T&Cs for specific rates.

✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
