The Appeal
Good as the V12 cars are, those in the know highly rate the earlier six-cylinder i6 DB7 as a modern Aston that you can properly use and enjoy. These cars got the supercharged version of Jaguar’s tough 24V straight-six engine and are nearly as powerful and as quick as their 5.9L siblings.
They are rare too, with just 1,049 coupes built with the 4spd automatic gearbox. This smart Solent Silver car was first registered in late 1997 and has been with the current collector-keeper since 2016. It is a very low-mileage car, with the displayed 35,000 miles supported by MOT and servicing records. The condition reflects the sparing use and the current keeper’s garaging regime. There are a few signs of age, even in high-traffic areas such as the driver’s footwell and seat bolster.
The history file shows regular attention by main dealers and specialists and the current MOT runs to February next year with no advisories. All in, this is a very tidy and nicely specified example of the well-regarded supercharged DB7.
The vendor says:
“A really good buy, probably one of the best if not the best example of this car which will definitely appreciate in value over time, a good investment.”
