The Appeal

The BMW R1200C occupies a unique place in motorcycle history as the first and only cruiser specifically designed by the Bavarian marque. Perhaps because they knew, there and then, that they had found the right solution, and there was nothing else needed…

Immortalised in the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, it paired the BMW boxer-twin engine with a relaxed boulevardier style — a combination that won over a loyal audience and has continued to grow in desirability since production ended. End-of-2004 models, like this one, are particularly sought after for their meticulous finish, brushed aluminium wheels and improved exhaust system.

This satin metallic grey example presents well for a motorcycle approaching its 22nd birthday. It is entirely original, with no modifications, and is equipped with a coveted BMW factory option pack: leather-covered rigid panniers, comfortable passenger seat, BMW US windscreen and clock. Acquired in 2024 from a motorcycle collector who kept it in a garage among around fifteen other machines, it has led a sheltered life — always ridden in dry weather and stored indoors.

Mechanically, it benefits from maintenance at a BMW dealership in July 2025, during which the rear shock absorber was also replaced. It is offered with 33,006 kilometres on the odometer, and a clean technical inspection valid until August 2027.
