The Appeal
To mark the end of X100 production, Jaguar introduced arguably the best version of this much-lauded car: the final edition ‘white badge’ cars. Launched at Geneva, just like the E-type decades earlier, these cars got sharper steering, lowered suspension and a bespoke range of trim and colour options. Just 200 were available worldwide.
These final cars built on improvements introduced to the X100 a few years earlier. The final cars got the more reliable AJ34 V8 engine and the stronger 6spd automatic gearbox. This 2005 car is painted Bay Blue metallic and features an ivory leather cabin trimmed in carbon fibre. The special edition BBS Perseus 20in split rim alloys and that lowered suspension give it a more purposeful stance.
The car is in good order and checks out well in the usual X100 inspection areas. The history file shows a run of regular servicing up to October 2024, since when it has largely been in storage and covered few miles. Recent work includes new wheel bearings, diagnostic checks and replacement of the power steering rack. The current MOT runs to October 2026 with advisories to note.
Any X100 XK is worth seeking out, but the final ‘white badge’ cars have extra cache. This is a well-kept and nicely presented example.
