The Appeal
The ‘Hawkeye’ Impreza updated and improved the aesthetics of Subaru’s second-generation road and rally warrior. This example looks like a standard STi UK Edition, but very much isn’t.
Let's start with the stats. Its rebuilt and upgraded engine is good for 480bhp and 490lb/ft of torque and has been set up and mapped by Impreza guru Andy Forrest. The list of improvements to achieve those results is lengthy and impressive. The running gear has naturally been enhanced with uprated brakes, suspension and clutch systems. The vendor tells us that the improvements total over £10,000 of investment.
He acquired the car in 2017 and commissioned the work in 2020. We are told that it has covered just 6,000 miles since and has proved faultless.
Inside and out, this car is very well presented with few and only very light indications of use. The service history is equally impressive. Alongside the expensive upgrades, the car has only been run on quality Millers Nanodrive 10/50 oil since 2017 with annual oil changes irrespective of mileage. The gearbox and differential fluids were replaced 3,000 miles ago. The car was freshly serviced prior to sale and is sold with a current MOT to June.
This is a highly specified Impreza that deeply exploits the capabilities of this most capable of cars. It’ll certainly surprise a few supercars. One not to miss for driving enthusiasts.
The vendor says:
“The car is amazing to drive and always puts a smile on my face. Its much more fun now than it was in standard form and is hugely faster. I think its the sweet spot for power as its still very usable and the car still retains standard like drivability. I have owned this car for 9 years and have loved it but unfortunately selling to help fund house project.”
