The Appeal
With Audi and Mercedes vying for its super sedan crown, BMW needed to pull out all the stops for the E60-generation M5. And it absolutely did. At its heart was the company's all-new, Formula One-derived S85 V10, an engine as legendary as anything to wear the blue propeller. Ever since, buyers and reviewers have been effusive. This really is one of the greatest sedans ever built.
This Interlagos Blue 2008 M5 adds dog-carrying capability to the car's lengthy list of attributes, starting with that 500 hp output. It is a post-LCI example, so it benefits from updated exterior lights and a revised interior. The seller bought the car earlier this year intending to keep it, but has since changed plans. That means the buyer benefits from a lot, and we mean a lot, of recent maintenance. The work covers key E61 check areas, including the rod bearings, gaskets, VANOS line, ARP bolts, scavenger pump, front springs, and throttle actuators. Munich Legends have been involved in the car's upkeep in recent years, and the history file includes invoices stretching back to 2015. A more detailed list is provided below.
Inside and out, the condition is good for a car of this age, and it comes to market with a lengthy MOT containing no advisories. A find for fans of quick, properly maintained wagons.
