The Ferrari 488 GTB was a watershed moment for Maranello’s mid-engined berlinetta line-up: the first to adopt twin-turbocharging, yet one that didn’t lose a single iota of the raw, visceral drama you’d expect from the legendary marque. With 670hp on tap from its 3.9-litre V8, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and a driver-focused chassis that takes on the very best, the 488 GTB won near-universal acclaim from the motoring press and has since cemented itself as an essential part of Ferrari’s 21st-century product range.

It’s a car of monumental character yet intense balance, and thanks to that Twin-Turbo setup, may be the most revolutionary Maranello product of the decade—but as the ever-more complex procession of hybridisation and digitisation continues on, these cars now feel gleefully old-school for the lucky driver behind the wheel.

This 2017 example arrives in an elegant combination of Nera bodywork over a Sabbia interior—an imposing pairing, to say the least, and far removed from the more commonly seen reds and yellows. With a remarkably light 13,515 kilometres showing, it’s ready and raring to go, accompanied by a vehicle safety inspection valid to June 2027.

Imposing and sleekly styled, the 488GTB is already a seriously impressive looker—but this one’s Nera paintwork takes things to something particularly special. Dark, menacing, and certain to turn heads, it’s arguably ten times more striking than the brighter palettes more commonly associated with Maranello.
