This camper is a 1997 “Drivelodge” Sportsman based on a Toyota Hi-Ace Power van. This camper is in beautiful original condition and was always garaged when not in use by its last owners of twenty years. We bought it directly from them, an elderly couple who were selling it due to their advancing years.
This model is a generous two berth with a well designed interior and plenty of space thanks to an aerodynamic high top roof. It is fitted with a tow bar with electrics, leisure battery, 240v mains hook up in addition to the standard “Sportsman” specification; fridge, two hob burner and sink. The gas fittings are in date and there is a gas bottle fitted. It also comes with an after-market awning which cost circa £1k.
In preparation for sale we have recently carried out some re-commissioning including an engine service, four new tyres and a new battery. Advisory free MOT until December 2026.
This Toyota camper is fitted with the very robust 2. 7 litre SOHC engine which is extremely well suited to the vehicle providing plenty of power and decent motorway cruising through the five speed gearbox. It is also very pleasant to drive with light controls and power steering. Everything works including the original period radio.
This is an original factory converted camper and Drivelodge is a well regarded company based in Keighley who have been manufacturing vans for the last 32 years. This one, as you can see from the photos is in sublime condition and ready to use.
It’s worth mentioning that campers of this age qualify for classic camper insurance and cost a fraction of the cost of newer ones to insure.
