Model history
The Mini Van is a true automotive icon, launched as early as 1960 to provide a compact, economical transport solution based on Alec Issigonis’s famous saloon. Built on an extended chassis lengthened by 24 centimetres, it gives up the rear side windows and the bench seat in favour of a surprisingly practical load volume, accessed via two distinctive hinged doors.
By 1975, these vans were everywhere on the streets of the United Kingdom! Their durability and agility made them the go-to tool for tradesmen, but the Mini Van entered legend mainly thanks to its famous red livery for the Royal Mail. It also equipped fleets for British Telecom and the Automobile Association, proving that even a simple design could handle demanding day-to-day use. Although more spartan than the passenger version, it exudes an irresistible retro charm today—making it a highly sought-after collector’s piece or a distinctive promotional platform for enthusiasts.

Full restoration and complete build in the spirit of Écurie Ecosse – forged 1460 engine
Under the bonnet, it’s clearly set up like a proper race car, road-usable:
– 1460 cm³ engine block fully forged (crankshaft, connecting rods, reinforced pistons)
– ARDEN 8-port high-performance cylinder head
– Jenvey individual throttle-body injection for very precise fueling and immediate throttle response
– Dog-leg gearbox with crisp, ultra-direct gear changes
– Optimised cooling (aluminium radiator, carefully executed installation)
– Fully reworked engine bay: hoses, wiring, ancillaries… everything is clean, functional and built to last
The running gear is on the same level as the mechanicals:
– Front and rear suspension fully redesigned, with comprehensive geometry set-up (camber, caster, toe)
– Big front 4-piston KAD brakes, aviation-grade hoses
– Rally suspension cones, Hi-Lo kit, sport dampers, etc.
Once again, every component is new or recently refreshed, assembled with real attention to coherence and effectiveness.
The result is an extremely lively, precise and healthy Van, with a very “competition” character while still being usable on the road.
