Highlights
- Cardellino 65B modified for racing
- Complete bike for restoration
- Evocative modified bodywork with low-slung handlebars
The Appeal
The Cardellino 65 from 1954 was not much different from the Motoleggera, but because it had been mandatory since 1951 to have a licence plate on light motorcycles, customers started looking for heavier models. Moto Guzzi tried to keep the light models interesting by lowering the price. Cosmetic changes gave the machine a more robust and sporty appearance. The wheels were given a more normal diameter of 20 inches. In 1956, the Cardellino was fitted with a telescopic fork.
This evocative c.1956 65B looks like it has spent its life on the track rather than the road. Modified with streamlined tank, low-slung seat and handlebars and rear shocks it is a lovely charismatic classic that will provide an interesting project for the buyer.
Bike is running condition, it appears to be complete, with frame and engine numbers matching numbers. Enjoy it as a historic centrepiece of your collection or restore and enjoy it. The choice is yours.
