The Appeal
The Audi 100 is one of those great all-time executive cars, and continues to garner plenty of admiration. Now make it a turbo, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. That's a genuinely rare find this side of the channel, and this example may well be the only one currently on the road in Britain. Powered by the 2,226 cc five-cylinder MC2 turbo engine - closely related to the unit found in the Ur-Quattro - it offers a compelling blend of performance and long-legged motorway cruising, aided by a drag coefficient of just 0.30.
This car spent over 30 years with its second registered keeper, who used it primarily for long-distance motorway commuting before laying it up in 2009. Stored mainly in a dry garage, it was recommissioned in 2025 and has since benefited from extensive mechanical work. The gearbox has been reconditioned by a specialist, the original exhaust manifold has been replaced with an Ur-quattro item from Dialynx to cure a known cracking issue, and the head gasket, valve stem seals, cam belt, fuel distributor, brakes, radiator and more have all been renewed.
The vendor describes the body as rust-free and the engine as easy to start and clean-burning. It comes with a current MOT and a thorough history file including maintenance notes going back to 2001, Haynes manuals, and technical references - a well-documented example of a genuinely scarce machine, and one that remains eminently drivable.image.png1.69 MB
