The Appeal
Introduced in 1985, the Honda Legend continues to be a highly valued Japanese flagship - and this example, from 1988, is a great example of the first generation - where it all started. The Legend’s essential characteristics are all there, but comes complete with a charming period styling and a charming patina that simply adds an extra dimension of character.
Having been kept in storage for some time, this Honda Legend was cosmetically restored around two years ago, and given a new battery and given a tune-up - it’s now reportedly in great working order.

The Interior
- Impressive walnut, plastic and hide interior
- Heavily original with no known modifications
- The seats have been moisturised and look to be in good order, with light creasing
- Thin crack is visible on the centre of the rear bench seat’s bolster
- Door cards are in good order with only minor signs of wear
- Angular dashboard is in good period condition with a wood-effect centre console
- Some visible creasing and cracking surrounds the gearstick
- Instruments, dials and switches are all in good condition
- The air-conditioning is reported to be in excellent working order
- Original radio installed
- We’ve received no reports of any technical faults with any interior options
- The carpets and headlining look to be in fine condition
- Boot is in good order and filled with plenty of spare parts
The Exterior
- Impressive silver aesthetics with a plastic and chrome trim
- Paintwork was refreshed around two years ago but has now settled into a level of wear
- Some light blemishes, particularly around the trims, sills and filler cap
- The car overall, however, presents very well
- Chrome trims are in good order with no major faults
- The Honda badging appears to be in good order
- However, it looks as if a badge is missing on the left-hand of the boot lid
- Bodywork is in good order with no dents or dings we can spot
- The car is sitting on its original alloys which do have some light scuffs
- Shod in a full set of Michelin Tyres
- Underneath, the car shows light wear but is largely in fine fettle
The Mechanics
- Car is carrying the 2.5L C25A V6 powerplant
- Married to a 5-speed manual transmission
- No known mechanical modifications save for a tune-up, service and new battery
- Engine bay appears in good condition with age-commensurate wear
- We’ve been informed of no mechanical issues, leaks, bangs, knocks or smoke
- The car reportedly starts first time, brakes, accelerates and shifts with zero issues
- Spare parts include a fuel pump, radiator, dashboard panel, etc

An excellent overall example of a much-loved model, this Honda Legend sits on the perfect bridge between a modern, usable motor and a retro classic.
