The Appeal
The MV Agusta F4 750 was a produced from 1999 to 2004 in various trims. It was said to be the bike that resurrected the MV Agusta brand, following MV’s withdrawal from racing in 1976 after the death of Count Domenico Augusta, the brand’s founder, in 1971. Purchased by the global motorcycle conglomerate Cagiva in 1992, MV Agusta was brought back to life with the F4. This new four-cylinder F4 began development within Cagiva’s racing development brand CRC, but it eventually took Ferrari Engineering in Modena to finish the prototype. Upon completion of the prototype, MV’s engineers finalized the engine and chassis design in preparation for production.
Derived from the early ‘90s Ferrari Formula One engines, the 750F4’s production version of the 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve 749.5 cc engine produced right around 126 hp at 12,500 RPM, propelling the F4 to a top speed of right around 162 mph. While the initial design was assisted by Ferrari, the finalized MV Agusta engine was quite different in the production bikes, while still utilising the signature radial valves.
This particular F4-S is presented impeccably with a fresh professional respray in its original colours and is reportedly mechanically in perfect order. With just under 11,000 miles of use in its lifetime, being completely up to date with maintenance, and in stunning visual condition, this MV is ready to ride as often as you like.
The History and Paperwork
V5c present and current
MOT valid until 13th August 2024, no advisories
V5C states “Vehicle has been salvaged because the estimated cost of commercial repair was more than the value of the vehicle.” However, we saw no indication of why this could be, other than a small mark seen on the frame as pictured, and have no historic knowledge of the causing issue from the current owner, as the bike is in excellent visual condition currently
Modifications include:
Owner states aftermarket “chip” fitted but has not been used since install
Mannpower quad-tip exhaust system fitted, sounds incredible and not exceedingly loud. Owner states original exhaust system will come with sale.
Originally purchased for light pleasure use in 2016, it eventually found use as a display showpiece for their main office; this bike saw very little use during the current ownership and was mainly stored inside
Recent servicing and light recommissioning and check-up on 14th August 2023:
New battery fitted
New front brake pads
Oil and filter change
New fuel pump O-ring
Bulb replacement
Benefits from an all-panel-off professional respray to the original paint scheme, where the whole bike was stripped and everything that was red and grey has been repainted and fitted with new decals, reportedly costing around £2,500
Reportedly looked after by the same mechanic since 2011
Comes with bike stand as pictured
The current vendor reports that the bike was bought but never used, instead was used as a Office Art Work until a couple of months ago
The current vendor also tells us that after talking to specialist and the previous owner, the bike was damaged around 2005/6 but only plastic parts only, ie Fairing etc , there was no frame, wheel or engine damage. The bike was repaired with replacement MV parts only and used up to 2011 including 2 trips to the TT among other simular journeys.

Summary
As the bike that resurrected the nameplate, this F4-S is an excellent opportunity to purchase a legendary motorcycle in immaculate condition. While it is indeed a road bike, it is highly capable and could just as easily find itself on your local racetrack for a spirited track event or perhaps even be the base for a competitive track bike. One thing is for sure, when you twist the throttle and bear down on this one, there’s absolutely no denying the MV Agusta F4-S is a formidable performance machine.
Purchased as a low-mileage collector’s piece, for your weekend-warrior fun runs, or perhaps even for a longer tour, this bike is fit for purpose and is mechanically ready to take on the miles in any way you see fit.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.
Anti-sniping
Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.
Auto-bidding increments
If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
