Land Rover Defenders are among the most personalised vehicles in the world, with myriad of tuning, off-roading and styling options from which to choose. After all, 60 years of development is bound to lead to a whole host of possibilities.
It has a thriving cult following, and most Defender fans would never drive anything else. This one has been in the same ownership for all 11 years of its life – a 2012 model with the late specification modifications, including improved ventilation and a chunkier, more modern fascia, it started life as a simple Defender 90 hard top – the basic model, which became a blank canvas for the owner to improve.
It now features lifted suspension, a Warrior winch, mud tyres and improved diffs, skid plates and a raised air intake, plus a front light bar and rear tow bar with NATO hitch. It’s a trick piece of kit, ready for full-on off-road adventures.
Every Land Rover Defender is cool, but this one is funkier than most. Bought new by the last owner and personalised to his own tastes, it’s been turned into a substantially capable off-roader, but without being too extreme. Every modification has a purpose, and what you end up with is a 4x4 that’s more than capable of all-terrain use while still being usable on normal roads, not least because of the modern Puma and engine and six-speed transmission.
It's ready to enjoy entirely ‘as is’, or to be taken to the next level as an extreme off-road machine that’s already much of the way there.
