The Morris Minor was produced from 1948 until 1971. Side-valve engines were followed by OHV engines, first 803, then 948 and finally 1100cc. Today the Minor is as popular as ever and great fun to drive. Travellers and Tourers have become valuable and the once humble saloon is catching up perhaps because unlike so many classics they are very practical.
This car is a 1964 Minor 1098cc four door saloon in “Rose Taupe”. It has had just four previous owners from new and benefits from substantial recent expenditure including a new interior with “Newton Commercial” matching front seats and “Mota Lita” steering wheel. The under bonnet and boot area are immaculate, the chrome-work is mostly new and the paint finish is virtually perfect – clearly there is no rust! It also drives as well as it looks with tight steering a slick gear-change and strong brakes (recently overhauled).
This Minor is “just right” in terms of condition – as close to concours as you would want without being too good to use and to replicate it would cost far more than the asking price. As a 1964 car it is from perhaps the best era of minor production, reputedly better built than the later cars but with various upgrades and the 1098cc engine.
