The T has been maintained regardless of cost as the last keeper who owned it since 2006 regularly drove from Leicestershire to Sicily which has lead to the mileage covered of 96, 200 miles, he has replaced this Arnage with a low mileage 2012 Mulsanne. 5 previous owners, M. O. T. records go back to 2006 at 27, 713 miles.
This fabulous first year of production Arnage T is totally unmolested, everything is as it was when new. It still runs on the unique upgraded 19 inch split rim alloy wheels and correct Pirelli tyres. The performance is outstanding even by todays standards. These are very different to the earlier Red Label models as Bentley spent millions of pounds on stiffening up the structure of the body and offering much more internal room, especially in the rear seats. Only 15% of the 1959 V8 engine design remained with a single auxiliary drive belt, 0-60 is 5. 5 seconds with a top speed of 168 mph. The final drive is also taller with stiffer springs and anti-roll bars which all lead to them being 57% stiffer than a Red Label aided by extra bracing in the wheel arches, roof, bulkhead and sills. This T has the unique black instrument dials and drilled metal foot pedals as well as luxury features including automatic headlights, electric steering wheel column, front and rear parking sensors, dual zone climate control, cruise control and electric front and rear seats. The quilted seats are completely different to the Red Label, one sits in them now instead of being perched on them.
This Arnage was registered on 28th March 2002 at Jack Barclay, London and would have cost around £170, 000 plus extras. It has clearly been pampered and used as a motorway car, the leather shows very little signs of wear, it looks as if it has covered half the mileage and the rear seats have hardly been sat on. The burr walnut woodwork is in nearly perfect condition. Every internal surface is either leather or wood or wilton carpet which are all original and are in superb condition. The original Alpine Satellite Navigation system is still in place. There are a few very minor marks, chips and scratches on the coachwork but overall it is in lovely condition. The hardback sleeved owners manual is included as well as the service book. A high quality custom Specialised Cover is included as well as a battery charger / conditioner. If one assigned a cherished dateless number plate to this Bentley (It has recently displayed PBE 41) the average person would think it was a recent purchase costing hundreds of thousands not the value of the extras or servicing, especially in this lovely traditional colour combination.
Can be viewed near Diss in Suffolk and is kept alongside another Bentley, it can be viewed by prior appointment. We exhibited this Arnage T at the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club Annual Concours and Rally at Burghley House and The Bentley Drivers Club Silverstone Race day this summer covering around 400 miles, the engine emits a lovely deep burble and it is economical due to the high final drive ratio.
