EXTERIOR
The Blue exterior paint is in good condition throughout. This example is not show car condition but makes a great useable classic car and has some signs of patina. However, importantly one must note there is no rust. This 240 is in wonderful condition for the age. The lights and trim have a fresh appearance and the glass all around the car is original Volvo, being etched with Volvo. Usually one finds a 240 Estate that has galactic miles on the clock, this one however does not and is not your average example.
INTERIOR
The Tan Velvet is still in lovely condition and has some age-related patina. The interior is in original condition and the headlining on this example is in perfect order. All the carpets are immaculate and still retain the factory deep pile, having been protected from new by the lovely thick rubber Volvo tray mats. The seat bolsters are perfect and are free from any scuffs or sagging. The dashboard and centre console are also in equally fine condition, with no cracks or sun damage to be found.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This 240 SE Estate is powered by Volvo’s 2. 0-litre four-cylinder unit, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car drives extremely well and soaks up the road and miles effortlessly. Something that a Volvo of this age must do. The engine is extremely quiet and the engine bay is wonderfully original throughout.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The Torlanda alloy wheels are in unrestored, original condition and are shod in tyres, all with good tread.
HISTORY
This 240 SE Estate was first registered in February 1992 and has a corresponding service history with some stamps. There are some invoices and old receipts present and the original owner’s manuals and spare keys. Previously registered by the production unit used to produce ITV’s drama, A Private War. This 240 SE Estate is ready to be enjoyed on our roads once more.
