Many of our viewers / readers will know how much we like the T2
In the past examples in Brown or Gold would have repainted by us into some fabulous colours, like Smoke, Velvet, Sage, Brewster and always Green of some sort
Having seen the Honey Gold T2 recently, she was is such original condition, although she has covered 123. 000 miles (with a complete and full service history obviously) we couldn't bring ourselves to change anything - we apart from changing the original Flying 'B' Mascot to a Gold
We gave her a full service and thorough check over and then used her for our everyday car
The interior is unsullied and have never been refurbished, as it is such good condition - beautiful veneers and in a matching hue to the exterior bodywork and the carpets and hides for the seats, door cards and top and knee rolls have never been re-coloured ever
We have feed them vigorously and they have taken on that nice patinated soft feeling from quality hides which have been well looked after
In the past a "Gold Roller / Bentley" would have been followed by jeers and snide remarks - nowadays in the late teens of the 21st Century, 40 years after her birth we are followed by waves, cheers and the thumbs up
How times change - in a nice way sometimes
I posted a picture of her on Instagram just before we headed of for Royal Ascot earlier this year - a shrewd chap, well known to us, saw the post and he too understands her 'Hip & Happening' 1970's style
She is now on her way to his 'pad' in Switerland, hopefully to enjoy another 30 years in a new Motorhouse
