Triumph Vitesse 6 – Matching Numbers/ Overdrive
The Triumph Herald was launched in 1959 and, like the Spitfire, was designed by Giovanni Michelotti. The upmarket Vitesse was introduced in May 1962 and was an immediate success delivering a four seat saloon with sports car performance.
Milestones are delighted to offer for sale an absolutely stunning 1965 Vitesse ‘6’ in Gunmetal Grey, Sebring White stripe with white hood, factory option wire wheels and original blue interior - arguably one of the prettiest combinations produced by the Triumph factory
Our Vitesse was restored over twenty years ago after nearly 20 years in storage and today remains in remarkable condition. The two-tone paint has a deep lustre with very good panel fit and underneath the car is in body colour with absolutely no corrosion.
On the road the car drives as good as it looks with brisk acceleration (for 1965) and the overdrive option enables the car to cope well with modern driving conditions all to the sound of the delightful straight six engine soundtrack.
The history file indicates the car started life as a demonstrator with Charles Hull Ltd and contains the original V5 in Charles Hull pocket, service book, Heritage Certificate and a variety of invoices and MOT’s.
Ready to be used and enjoyed we expect this stunning car to find an appreciative new custodian very quickly.
