Description
This is my 1964 Morris Oxford. She is in outstanding condition and incredibly straight and rot-free for one of these big Farinas!
Finding top class examples of Oxfords, Cambridges and their other derivatives has become mega difficult during these past few years. Once such a common site, not just on the roads but amongst the classic car marketplace, you will find that it is now quite the complete opposite. Those who own the top examples appear to be keeping them and so very rarely do examples such as this one become available. You only need to check this fine website that you are on now to see just how few of the model are advertised these days. There are more older pre-Farina and even some pre-war Oxfords - and there's of them than there are of this much loved 60s saloon!
She is as straight as she looks in the photos and apart from any minor blemishes which can hardly be avoided with a 53-year-old car, she is really lovely inside and out. To be fair, it's difficult enough to even find any blemishes in this case! Her light blue seats are leather and not vinyl. They also sit with just the right amount of patina. You would leave them just as they are.
She drives, feels and sounds just like a Morris Oxford should and I would tend to think that her mileage of 38, 000 is correct. She has always been a Northern Ireland car and I have both the original buff log book as well as the current V5. She is of course a UK vehicle and she has carried her registration number from new. She has an MoT until July 2019.
So, as I say, Oxfords - indeed any of the large Farinas - rarely come along in this sort of condition. She would hold her own on any showground and is a pleasure to drive.
I accept all major debit/ credit cards and a ten per cent deposit is required at the point of sale with the balance due within three days. I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote.
All my classic cars are treated as the equivalent of motoring antiques. This one, for example, is 53-years-old. They cannot be compared to the wife's six-month-old Chelsea tractor and they are bound to come with imperfections, quirks and bits and pieces that will need attention even if it is some time in the future. They do however come with oodles of charm, appeal and are there to be loved like a family pet. If you are new to the classic car scene, then please bear all this in mind. Demand is outstripping supply these days and they don't make the old girls any more. So, make some allowances and drive away with a smile on your face!
