EXTERIOR
This superb little 1. 9 GTI has clearly led a pampered life and as such remains in outstanding condition. Other than a few very light stone chips to front end the paintwork is in excellent order all over, with a remarkable depth of shine to every panel. What really sets this car apart from the rest is all of the pristine plastic and rubber trims; everything appears in close to new condition including the red GTI detailing. Looking closer you’ll notice the registration number still etched onto the glass.
INTERIOR
The interior is second to none having been professionally re-trimmed to an exceptionally high standard. The finish is to factory specification and really gives the impression of being sat inside a brand new 205! The black leather bolsters are supple, unworn, and contrasted by the correct red stitching; the textured cloth centres are also pristine with absolutely no signs of any wear to speak of. Commonly worn items such as the steering wheel and gearknob retain a fresh appearance, and the plastic trims throughout are immaculate. Pleasingly the switchgear still feels solid to operate and in the foot-wells you’ll find a set of new tailored overmats. The vacuum-operated sunroof works exactly as it should.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The under-bonnet area remains in excellent fettle, the engine having benefitted from a recent service that included a timing belt change. On close inspection there are no signs of corrosion to the inner panels with no visible deterioration to any of the plastics, rubbers, or soundproofing. Better still, the service history is one of the best we have seen of any 205, with 24 services having been carried out since new – 14 of which were by the supplying dealer.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 15-inch Speedlines are in amazing condition with only the tiniest hint of marking to be found on very close inspection – certainly nothing worthy of a refurb. They are wrapped in a matching set of Dunlop Sport BluResponse tyres, which were fitted less than 900 miles ago.
HISTORY FILE
This 3 owner GTI was first registered in January 1990. It was supplied new by Research Garage (Hinckley) Ltd. The low mileage of 62, 000 is fully verified by an extensive service history, which comprises of a fully stamped service booklet and stack of maintenance invoices. A raft of MOT certificates and the original Peugeot book pack complete the paperwork.
The service history accompanying the 205 is excellent. The book is stamped with entries at the following mileages: 1k, 3k, 6k, 9k, 12k, 15k, 18k, 21k, 25k, 28k, 31k, 37k, 43k, 46k, 48k, 50k, 52k, 54k, 56k, 57k, 58k, 58k, and 59k. The most recent service was done in March 2018 at 62k miles when the timing belt was also replaced. 14 of these services were carried out by the supplying dealer.
