Motodrome are pleased to offer this superb-looking 1996 example of the rare, full-fat, high-performance Volvo 850R Estate, this one an automatic, finished in Graphite Grey Metallic with the more desirable Anthracite half- leather/ alcantara sports trim.
Not to be confused with the more numerous T5, the ‘R’ models (which are now appreciating rapidly in value) have many extra tweaks that take the performance and handling to higher levels, including 240bhp as standard, uprated suspension inc thicker anti roll bars and sports dampers, 17” alloys, and a bigger front airdam.
The ‘R’ specification means that the car has all the right bits, such as;

Unlike many that have been heavily tuned, this one, apart from uprated brake discs and pads (and possibly the front grille) remains resolutely standard as far as I can tell.
Again, unlike many that have been repatriated from Japan, this is an original UK car and has had just 3 previous owners.
Odometer reading 149500 miles, with a history file including the original service book with 14 stamps therein (there’s no room for any more) and a selection of bills and other paperwork. Cambelt and water pump replaced in 2017, and we’re told the PCV system has been replaced within the last 2 years too. We have the full dealer pack etc and spare keys.
Comes with MOT to July 2019 (no advisories) and 6 months warranty on sale.
I’ve had several of these through my hands over the years, and in my opinion this is the nicest of those. An AA inspector who came to check on of our Defenders on behalf of a client looked at it closely having had one himself, and pronounced it the nicest one he'd seen...
