Datsun 240Z – Utterly Original Australian Import
There had been Datsun sports cars before the legendary 240Z but with the “Big Z's” arrival in 1969 the Japanese firm established itself as a major force to be reckoned with in the sports/ GT market. Boasting a 2. 4-litre, overhead-camshaft, six-cylinder engine, five-speed manual transmission, independent suspension all round, and a high trim level as standard the Datsun was an instant hit around the world
Milestones have been looking to market a 240Z for some time and we have finally sourced an example that meets our exacting standards.
This super rare right-hand drive, five-speed 240Z was delivered new to Australia the first owner, a Mr Sheldon, before passing to his son in 1991. The latter sold the car in 2001 to an ex-pat who brought the car to the UK in 2005 with just three owners since – the last a Milestones customer in West Sussex
Finished in Datsun Polar White with black interior our 240Z is utterly original apart from a re-spray carried out in 2006 (due to sun fading) and the fitting of five performance alloy wheels more recently. The car also benefits from a reconditioned starter motor, new battery, and various works of mechanical refurbishment including all-new brakes since importation.
Most recently serviced by a marque specialist, this exceptionally solid example of a much sought-after Japanese classic is running and driving beautifully. The car is offered with the old Australian registration document, a quantity of expired MOTs & invoices.
A rare sight on UK roads we recommend early viewing in order to avoid disappointment.
