Description

Introduced in 1937, the VA Series - or One and a Half Litre as it was officially known, was to be the replacement for the NB Series Magnette. Powered by a twin carburettor version of the Wolseley 12/ 48 engine, the MG VA was available in Tourer, Saloon and Drop Head Coupe versions.

The Tourer version offered here is recorded by the MGCC SVW Register as having originally been a Lancashire Police Car.

Restored some years ago, the car is in sound and very presentable order and, interestingly spent some years in a motor museum in Portugal before being acquired by the present family. Upon repatriation the original registration number was secured and returned to the car. Due to illness the car has been unused for the last 3 years and would benefit from a recommissioning service. The car is attractively finished in Maroon with cream leather upholstery. There is full weather equipment although in fairness the hood is elderly and has chafed through on the hood irons in a couple of places.

Rarely do VA Tourers become available so this represents an excellent opporutnity to acquire a sound example for a relatively modest sum. These larger MGs are well suited to longer distance touring and events and offer ample family accommodation.
