Description
According to the Heritage Certificate, this MGB was built on 31st December 1968, and first registered on 21st March 1969. The original dealer was University Motors Ltd, as can be seen from the plaque on the dashboard. The car is very well finished in Tartan Red, with black interior and hood, and stands on the highly desirable and now quite rare disc wheels. It has obviously been extensively rebuilt in recent times, and we have a potted history dating back to 1987 which shows constant upgrading, servicing and regular MOT tests. The mileage shows approximately 61, 000, and the oldest MOT certificate in the file, from 1987, shows 43, 567. The whole of the car has been maintained in very good condition, with excellent paintwork, interior, underside and mechanics. ‘Easy-Steer’ power steering was fitted in 2018, and the engine was rebuilt in 2021, including conversion to unleaded. In 2024, the car was converted to single 12v, a new cooling system was installed, new brake and clutch cylinders were fitted, along with a reconditioned gearbox with overdrive, together with clutch. Also, at this time, new seats belts were fitted. The under-bonnet area is nicely detailed, the boot is properly carpeted, and the interior is very nice indeed, with original seats in very good order, good door cards, carpets and even a new dashboard, (fitted in 2023), with quality Motalita steering wheel. It is very good to see the original disc wheels have been retained and these are very well shod. This is a lovely car to drive with plenty of power, smooth overdrive, good brakes (servo-assisted), clutch, gearbox etc. Paperwork includes a list of work carried out from 1987, old MOT certificates, current MOT certificate to 23rd March 2027, V5C and workshop manual. This is a very original spec car, not to be missed.
