Description
P6B 3500S – Utterly Original/ Matching Numbers
Rover introduced the 3500S in late 1973. Retaining all the refinement expected of the P6 range the manual transmission V8 delivered over 120mph with 0/ 60 performance in just nine seconds and was well received by press & public alike.
Our 3500S was delivered new to Mann Egerton, Derby on 5th November 1974. Mr Roy Trippas, the second owner, purchased the car from Archers of Solihull in May 1975 and he retained the Rover for over 30 years. The car has now covered 54, 000 miles with just 4 owners and is simply the most original and unmolested P6 we have ever seen. The car has no evidence of corrosion and has never been welded. The interior is utterly original down to the box pleat upholstery and Motorola radio. The history folder includes original owner’s wallet and booklets, original Archers of Solihull tax disc holder/ key fob.
The stunning Mexico Brown paint was refreshed in 2012 by Aldridge Automotive of Wolverhampton and the car retains the original Huntsman Brown vinyl roof. Upgraded with electronic ignition the engine starts first time every time, shows excellent oil pressure and the V8 sound track is addictive.
The P6B 3500s has been under-valued for many years. Recently original, rust free P6B’s values have risen sharply and we recommend early viewing in order to fully appreciate this remarkable car that will gives years of pleasure to the lucky new owner
