Description
This beautiful 1998 XKR has undergone the transformation from the legendary Paramount Performance company.
The engine produces 450HP through the 4. 0 litre super charged V8 engine.
The list of upgrades includes full Arden body kit, big bore stainless steel exhaust system (very loud & throaty bringing out the best in the 4 litre V8 engine), Split rim Futura Oz 19 inch alloys - RARE, lowered suspension, Switchable steering, K&N air filter, pulley upgrade to a Cosworth super charger. The upgrades would have cost in the region of £20, 000 when done. I have included the original Paramount brochures listing all upgrades & costs that were available for this car at the time.
The car has rare black leather upholstery with red stitching and black carpets a lovely change to the normal garish cream interiors that so many seem to have. The head lining was replaced a couple of years ago but has started to sag again sadly - not had time to re-pin but price reflects.
The car had a new engine & torque converter at around 70, 000 miles, supplied & fitted by a Jaguar main agent and I have bill to prove it in the history pack. The new engine is from the later engines and it does NOT have the nikasil liners that were very problematic on the early XKs and XKRs.
The car has now covered almost 130, 000 miles (60, 000 on new engine) and has full service history both from main agent up to around 90K and recently over the last 12 years from a small independent Jaguar specialist – Greencats Ltd of Frating near Colchester Essex.
They specialise in the older Jaguars mainly XKs & E types and are very familiar with this car as the previous owner also used them, they are father & son team and are exceptionally pedantic about the quality of their work and reputation and are a very much renowned for what they do.
Apart from the general service works, the last three years car has also had the following work done.
-New relay module to engine fan
-New anti-roll bar D mountings
-New ball joint gators,
-New rear suspension
-A frame mountings
-New rear suspension bump stops
-Wax oil treatment to underbody and voids in rear wings etc.
I have owned this car for approximately 1 year and the previous owner had it for about 13 years.
I have done around 5, 000 miles since ownership, the car has always been garaged and only ever gets used in dry weather.
Road tax is £240. 00 a year and this car will soon start becoming collectable.
The car is in stunning condition for the year but did about 15 years ago suffer some front end damage resulting in it being classified as a cat C, this is not a structural loss as the damage is deemed easily repairable but a financial loss as cost for repairs via main Jaguar agent / car hire costs / legal dispute etc meant that making it a loss works out cheaper for the insurer.
The car was professionally repaired and put back to its original condition with the new paintwork being done by a local body shop well known to Greencats Ltd.
Please do not expect a pristine example. This is a 20 year old car. It does have some paint blemishes but no rust. Although incredibly minor I just want to be honest. Underside is fantastic. There are some kerb marks on the wheels and some wear on the drivers seat. However if all this was rectified I would be asking for much more. With some work this could quite easily be a show car.
