The owner had owned the MGB since August 2000 and in 2016 had some restoration completed on the vehicle. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after getting the car delivered back (main photo above) he passed away.
Panels that were repaired/ replaced are:- Scuttle panel, repair panels for lower wings (front and back), front valance, rear inner valance, castle rails, rear valance, rear arches (inside and out) then repairs with sheet metal were completed on the floors and rear spring hangar (chassis rail). The bonnet was also replaced.
The engine was rebuilt with new pistons, rings, big ends, clutch and an unleaded head sourced and fitted. New front calipers, Master Cylinder, brake pipes and disks/ pads were fitted. Radiator was re-cored. New rear leaf springs and bushes fitted.
The respray was completed on all replacement panels and a 'blow over' on the rest of the car to freshen it up. The owner spend ?1600 on the respray work. The car is Brooklands Green.
The owner opted for new Wire Wheels and new Avon Tyres at a cost of ?1500
We have a full photographic log of the restoration work completed. .
The Engine was removed so that the engine bay could be painted then it was refitted. The owner also opted for an MGB V8 Front Grille.
The car sat for 12 months before the owners family contacted us and asked us to collect the car and get it ready for resale.
We have conducted a full Classic Friendly Ltd Safety Inspection (- details above) on the car which is viewable at our premises. We hold the V5 for the seller as well.
