Description
One of the first 1200 Laverdas with frame number 70. First registered in July 1980. Price in EURO 29500,-.
We have restaurated and rebuildt this bike to our own like. The targets had been:
- better chassis
- better handling and cornering
- less weight
- more power
- better brakes
- better front forks
- wire spoke wheels
- lightweight 3 into 1 exhaust system
- typical Laverda look
- reliability
- TÜV approval
First we had luck to get a Forcella Italia Endurance fork with quick release. To build it perfectly into the Laverda chassis a set of One Off yokes were machined to pattern.
Wire spoke wheels and Brembo 4-piston caliper with cast iron discs we installed for top braking power. At the rear end a new set of adjustable Koni suspension is working perfekt.
For more (but healthy) engine power and torque carburetors with bellmouth, and specially made lightweight 3 into 1 exhaust system with 40 mm downpipes are fitted. Engine work and set up on the dyno was done by classic specialist Fette Mechanic in Braunschweig
who fitted also an electronic ignition.
Nearly 100 HP motor power and 83 Nm torque is a fantastic result for the none-tuned engine, combined with direct throttle response and gorgeous sound.
Handling of the 228 kilo bike is very good, fast cornering a result of the slightly altered geometry and modern tyres. All in all much better than a original Laverda triple.
We ride this fantastic italian beauty now since two years, had no problems at all and enjoyed every trip with her.
