Here we have a stunning , modified, classic BMW, with show car looks and excellent performance.
This 1972 2002 had been improved with the installation of the S14 ‘Baby M Power’ engine mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox, later BMW suspension and brakes etc. This engine produces around 200 BHP, lightweight and free revving, the perfect match for this car.
This car drives so well, very tight, it starts and performs without any fuss. Its a very usable car, everything working as it should.
This BMW spent most of its life in a warmer climate, it came to the UK in 2015. It has recently been part of a collection in Ireland, but obviously can be put back on UK plates if required.
Bodywork / Wheels / Interior
Finished in bright Yellow, its certainly makes the most of this lovely body shape. The paintwork is in excellent condition, its really has a lovely deep all over shine. The arch extensions etc are all genuine BMW items.
The wheels fitted are 15inch BBS alloys, with polished lips. All in excellent condition.
Inside this car it trimmed in Motorsport Blue with Black carpets. Its all in lovely condition, no cracks in the dash, no wear to the seats etc.
Underneath this car it is all very solid, its clearly been looked after.
Engine / Gearbox
The S14 engine in this car was the unit originally fitted to the E30 2. 0is cars in Europe. Its a ‘smaller’ version of the E30 M3 engine, at 1990 cc it produced 200 BHP and revs to 7300 rpm. A perfect engine for this car, being lightweight and maintaining the balance of this 2002.
The gearbox is a 5 speed unit, with a short shift. Again this works perfectly with this car, the fifth gear allowing for surprisingly relaxed motorway driving.
Summary
Being a 1972 car, it makes the road tax free in the UK.
