Lovely 1952 Ford Anglia E494A. “Buttercup”. Old style buff log book in the history file confirms something amazing . 2 owners from new !!! on the old record and 1 owner on the new V5. Previous owner whom is more than qualified took upon a full bare metal restoration some 8 years ago and the paint and bodywork are excellent to this day. Painted in a really nice Buttercup Cream color. I have recently color co-ordinated the wheel trims and refurbed both bumpers. The interior was treated to the same level of workmanship. New Red wool carpets, new headlining, all trim recovered in new Red leather. Boot space is very clean and tidy and houses the original jack and wheel brace.
Again the interior still feels new 8 years on .
Mechanically Buttercup is superb. As a qualified motor engineer a full engine rebuild was carried out , full gearbox rebuild , brake system, electrics etc etc. The car now is running 12 volt system and has an alternator instead of the old fashioned dynamo. Underneath and engine bay are very clean indeed.
On the road the car handles , goes and stops just as it should .
To summarise this 3 owner from new is excellent both mechanically and cosmetically. Everything works including the semaphores. With its original bakelite dash and near new interior it’s a great value for money classic, that would drive anywhere and be admired wherever it went.
