This is genuinely a difficult car to describe. It has just come from long term ownership. The V5 is showing no previous keepers. There is a retention of the original registration number stamped by dvla in 1978 and the car still retains this number now. I believe dvla records were updated around the mid 80s, so is it just one owner from new?? I will have to leave that to the buyer to research. Anyway back to the car. She was registered on 25th March 1938. She comes with many old mot certificates dating between 1982 and 2005. old and new style v5, many old insurance policies. The condition is best described as original patina. The car is wonderfully sound, paintwork has been polished through to the original primer in many areas, there is cracking in paint on front wings. Interior is nicely worn, door panels are a little shabby. The Austin runs and drives fine. I have had a short run out in it today and it performed fine with engine holding steady oil pressure. There is a slight whine from gearbox but not serious in my opinion ( I will get her in workshop this week and go through all levels etc). This is one of those cars that would best be left just as it is, as it would be a great shame to paint it. I am sure it would draw more crowds at a show than a fully restored car. We can photograph any area of the car upon request and welcome any inspection. Delivery can be arranged anywhere in the uk and we can accept most card payments.
