I am selling this car on behalf of a good friend of mine who unfortunately had a stroke out of the blue a year ago. He no longer has the inclination or interest in any of his collection that he has accumulated over the years and has asked me to help him find new homes for them.
Having had a brief look over the car, and although it will need some cosmetic work is in pretty sound, predominantly complete and original condition.
It starts on the button and sounds very good on its engine. Everything seems to work ok and it was not all that long ago that it completed a trip down to the coast by a relative with no issues. I did hear a slight exhaust blow but it is slight.
The interior is completely original and unmolested. Yes it does have some wear holes in the front seat cushions but nothing that cannot be rectified, infact I think I saw some material in the car to do the repairs. Even the headlining is in nice original condition. All dash instruments are present right down to a period radio that still works.
The body looks great in its two tone finish and really is a great period colour. It does have the odd blemish, fester mark but the obvious down side is the off side front drivers side wing, ideally it wants replacing, however there is another spare wing which will go with the car, I am told these are a fortune if you can find one. The owner did intend replacing it, however due to the unforeseen circumstances never got round to it. Have had a look underneath and it looks very sound with just the odd age related surface corrosion in places but rot wise it looks very good.
It is not currently motd as it has been in dry storage for a while now, I think it was last motd in late 2017 with no apparant advisors, however it is still taxed until December this year, but it is mot and tax exempt anyway.
It does have a huge history file with lots and lots of invoices, too many to list here and also loads of old mots. It also has some letters and old photos from the past along with a handbook, and a current V5.
Quite rare now infact I had difficulty in finding others for sale certainly at this price level.
All in all a great piece of British motoring history and sound investment, and a great price range starter classic.
