Description
Throughout its 8 years of production the Fiat 124 underwent several upgrades in order to infuse a sportier character to this family transporter. In 1968 it was offered in the 'Special' version with a 5-linked rear axle and an enlarged 1. 4lt engine. Two years later the 'Special T' model was fitted with the 124 Spider and Sport Coupe-derived 1. 4lt dual overhead camshaft engine (bilalbero). From 1972 to 1974, the most developed version was produced, the 'Special T 1600' that featured a maximally enlarged capacity to 1592cc permitting for a 95bhp and 126Nm performance output.
This particular Special T 1600 was produced as such in Fiat Rosso with black leatherette interior. It is practically a 1 owner car that was never subjected to any accidents and has been maintained with ample care. With original wheels and steering wheels stored, this is one of the last authentic non-restored Special T 1600 survivors.
