1964 VW Beetle 1. 3 twin port in Anthracite Grey. Brand new red leather seats with cream piping upholstered to top quality by Bromsgrove Auto Trimmers - not once sat on!
Car has been professionally partially restored to its current condition but still requires further work to make it roadworthy. Engine is running and can be demonstrated.
Brand new wheels and hub caps with Wolfsburg logo to match steering wheel and bonnet trim. Tyres in excellent condition.
Front EMPI disc brake conversion on dropped spindles. Car requires narrowed beam as a result - therefore it cannot be driven currently and will need to be trailered away.
Here is a full list of work carried out:
- Front wheel tube/ front panel completely repaired (extensive welding)
- Front inner wing sections both sides completely repaired (extensive welding)
- Rear wings inner and rear panel completely repaired (extensive welding)
- Engine bay plates (side trays) replaced
- Panel fabrication and repair for small rust areas on all the inner wing panels
- Rear panel drain/ seal rails
- New EMPI disc brake conversion and brake master cylinder
- Front and back seats, plus all door cards, restored by Bromsgrove Auto Trimmers in burgundy red leather with cream piping (these cost £920)
- New 15" steel wheels all round and new chrome hubcaps featuring the Wolfsburg logo (to match steering wheel and bonnet logo)
- Engine removed, tweaked, put back in, and now running on first key turn smoothly
- Front headlight glass & rim replaced
- New wiper arms and blades
- Electrics tidied up, and everything works as expected on the dashboard
- Modern rear speaker shelf removed, radio unit remains hidden in the back behind the front passenger seat
Needs to be done:
- Front rain/ seal rails need fitting (I think I have these available)
- Front scuttle panel needs attention / repair in places
- N/ S/ R wheel arch inner front needs attention/ repair and fabrication
- Repaired panels as above would need to be blended in with Anthracite Grey
