1930 Riley 9 Mk lV Tourer - Excellent provenance
Vintage models of the Riley 9 have always been highly regarded and sought after. The Mk1V fabric bodied tourer particularly so, being light, nimble and sporting in character.
This example, dating from 1930 and has been in the same family ownership since 1991. Previously owned by well known Riley Register member the late Jack Mckewen who acquired it from the late Dick Batho - both well known in VSCC circles. There is ownership history dating back to 1943 which is of great interest. Mckewen had great success in events with the car during his ownership and attained various awards. With the car are the copies of Motor Sport detailing the events concerned. The car has also been used for continental tours. There is a buff log book dating back to 1943 and there is a copy of the VSCC 'Blue Form'. There is also an extensive collection of receipts showing the work which has been carried out. A considerable number of spare parts are also available. Numerous photographs are supplied during its life and undergoing major work in the 1990s.
The car is presented in very good smart order with full weather equipment and excellent interior trim. This car represents an opportuntiy to acquire a genuine Vintage Riley 9 with good provenance and extensive history.
