With a massively heavy heart I have decided to go a completely different direction with my wedding car business, so I am letting my beloved 1973/ 74 VW late bay go to a new home.
The massive selling point on this vehicle is the interior. It is wedding specific, albeit you could take it out and sell it on if you are not looking at this for the purpose of hiring out for weddings / proms etc.

I have owned this bus for nearly 4 years now, and it underwent something a refresh when I bought it.
This camper benefits from an automatic gear box which was reconditioned 4 years ago and albeit the bespoke interior creates a barrier between front and back, this is actually a walk through camper from birth.
The interior cost more than the vehicle did to buy – and it’s worth every single penny!
The vehicle can seat 6 passengers.
The bus benefits from brand new brakes (calipers/ discs/ master cylinder/ servo/ brake lines) while the original 1700 engine has been replaced with a lovely refurbished 2 litre with brand new twin weber carbs.
Electronic ignition was fitted to help reliability and it has just had a full service.
It averages about 24 to the gallon, and can achieve 28-30 ish if you are very careful.
It is brilliant to drive.
Digital radio, custom made centre console and 12 v power points help with creature comforts.

Brand new tyres were fitted less than 1000 miles ago, and I have recently fitted new mirrors and centre caps/ moons.
While it still looks blumin lovely, there are a few marks here and there to the paint work - the drivers front arch needs some minor work if you are being picky. This was planned for the winter
Other things that should be mentioned:
- * The horn and washer jets work from subtle professionally fitted switches in the dash
- * The driver’s door lock and the ignition work off different keys. If I were keeping this I would consider a full matching lock set – which you can get for £200-300 (genuine parts).
It has never bothered me, as the vehicle is stored in a secure unit so I don’t as a matter of course use any of the locks etc.
The plan is to let this vehicle go at the end of the present wedding season, although if you want to take on the remaining 2019 bookings as part of the deal we can talk about that possibility.
Viewing is essential, but please understand this is a working vehicle so may not be immaculate at the time of your visit, while weekend availability is limited.
